She is survived by Lizzie (Petrie) Sloan of Dominion, the best mother and friend a daughter could have, and companion, friend and protector, Gordie MacLeod of Sydney. Jessi is also survived by big sister Theresa Burt of Sydney, who was there every step and every minute of this journey and by her husband Clem, whose treats were always welcomed; by sister Mary MacIntyre of Bridgeport whose emotional support comforted her heart and whose amazing food nourished her soul, and by her husband Blair whose hugs were always appreciated; by brother John of Dominion whose sense of humor kept her smiling and his wife Lois who was there to do whatever was needed; by baby sister and best friend in the whole world, Diane Gardiner of Hamilton ON, who will remain forever in her heart and by her husband Russell who always made her feel welcome; by sister-in-law June MacLeod-Donald who opened her home, heart and family to give her the strength she so often needed and by her partner David. Jessi was a graduate of MacDonald High School in Dominion and went on to earn her degree at Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish NS.
