It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden death of our father, brother, and grandfather, Clayton Francis Robinson, 62, resident of Forman Street, which occurred Thursday, June 9, 2011, at his home.
Born in North Sydney, Clayton was the son of the late Fred and Ethel (Hatcher) Robinson.
Clayton was a well known painter in the Northside area. He was a member of a large family and would especially enjoy time spent with his family when gatherings would take place. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Surviving is his two daughters, Stella Robinson (Billy), Sydney Mines, Shauna Robinson, North Sydney; his son, Jonathan Robinson, Florence; three grandsons, Jordon, Tyler, Josh; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn; brothers, Leo Robinson, Walter (Cathy) Robinson, Jackie (Dawn) Robinson, Alex Robinson, all of North Sydney, Ronnie Robinson, Sydney, Joe (Diana) Robinson, Cleveland, Ohio; sisters, Bonnie (Victor) MacMullin, Whitney Pier, Cora (Ronald) Shaw, Bras d’Or, Naomi (Lawrence) Boutilier and Janie (Roger) Quirk, both of North Sydney. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Freddell and Daniel in infancy, and a niece, Andrea Robinson.
Visitation for Clayton will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Jake Andrea officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial to take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
