It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Parrott of Glace Bay. Carl passed away at the Glace Bay Hospital on Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Born in Glace Bay, Carl was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (O’Connell) Parrott. He was a former member of St. John’s Church, Glace Bay.
Carl was employed with a car parts manufacturing plant in Kitchener, Ontario for many years. He was “Mr. Fix It”; there was nothing he could not fix. He was a quiet and very kind man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Carl will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lorna (Wilson); daughters, Joanne Yantha, Birch Grove, Deanne Ludolph, Lisa Cook; sons, Brad and Scott, all of Kitchener, Ont.; brother, Kevin (Gabrielle), Walkerton, Ont.; sisters, Mary MacCormick, Glace Bay, Betty (Neil) Bushnik, Glace Bay, Regina Parrott, Scarborough, Ont., Doris Rose, Glace Bay, Patricia Kennedy, Glace Bay. Also surviving are 10 cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by brothers, William, Glace Bay, Tom, Kitchener, Ont., and sister, Isabel Power, Oshawa, Ont.
In honoring Carl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at 1-2 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Fr. Leo Boone will be officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
The family requests no flowers please. Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
