At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown on Sunday Sept. 6, 2009 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer of Lorna May Gallant (Koughan) of Pleasant View aged 53 years. Beloved wife of Ronnie Gallant, Pleasant View. Loving mother of Rhonda (Alden) Gallant, Tignish; Randy (Jaclyn) Gallant, Fortune Cove; Amanda (Kramer) Gallant, Alberton; Ryan and Haley at home. Special nanny to Brandon, Maddie and Micah. She was born on March 6, 1956, the daughter of Lorne and May (Gallant) Koughan of Charlottetown. Besides her parents, she is survived by brothers and sisters Barb (Charlie) MacKie, Covehead; Marty (Donna) Koughan, Stratford; Frank (Ann) Koughan, Charlottetown; Janet (Pat) Kelly, Summerside and Larry (Kim) Koughan, Charlottetown. She was predeceased by a grandson Colton, niece Kristen, father & mother in-law Anthony & Mae Gallant, grandparents Joseph & Mary Ann Gallant and Frank & Ellie May Koughan. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road for visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 pm for immediate family only and 7-9 pm for the public and also Wednesday from 2-3:30 pm. Funeral will be held Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 4 pm. Interment in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations to a trust fund for Haley would be greatly appreciated.
