The death occurred suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, September 7, 2009, of Bernie Blum of Bellevue. Age 63. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Wanless) Blum. Loving father of David, Kenneth and Kristine (Joseph) Vandenberghe, Bellevue. Grampa to Victoria, Tamara and Robyn Vandenberghe. Survived by sisters Barbara Marinzel and Carol Maidansky and by brothers Henry (Louise) and Jack (Vincenza), Ontario, and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Barbara Blum. Resting at Southern Kings and Queens Funeral Home, Murray River, for visitation on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
