WESTVILLE – Harriet M. “Hattie” Hale, 100, of Church Street, Westville, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Valley View Villa.
Born in Durham on January 29, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Maxwell) Leithead.
Hattie was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, the Barbara MacKenzie Unit and the Westville Heritage Club where she was active in all three until recent years.
She is survived by sisters-in-law: Belle Sangster, Westville; Edith Allgood, Pickering, Ontario and Alpha Wilson, St. Stephen, NB and many nieces and nephews.
Hattie was predeceased by her husband, H. Seton Hale and her brother, James Leithead.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Westville, with the Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
