MITTON, MARY ELLEN - Mary Ellen Mitton, 91, of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on June 15, 2011. Born in Forest Glen on January 1, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nettie (nee Garland) Leaman. Mary was a resident of Fawcett’s Special Care Home for nine years. She enjoyed bingo, embroidery, quilting and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Chappell of Petitcodiac; her sisters: Doris Keith and Alberta Mitton; six grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, as well as by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Nelson; brothers: Lawrence, Ivan, Chesley and Robert; sisters: Violet Plume and Margaret Smith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac.
