Jack was a soldier in the Second World War (Charlottetown Light Horse), and a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force in peacetime. He was born and raised in St. Charles, P.E.I., and lived through the great depression on P.E.I., which shaped his life. He married twice. First to Violet, a war bride he brought to Canada from England, then to Nancy, who he met in later life. He travelled the world in his military life but P.E.I. stayed in his heart. He was an Islander and when he retired he returned there to live out the last 25 years of his life. Jack and his son Seth published a book about his life on P.E.I. called “Bannock, Beans and Black Tea”.
Interment has already taken place and he was interred in a family plot with his sister Edna in St. Charles Cemetery.
