Passed peacefully away after a brief illness on Saturday, September 5th, 2009. Gerald Joseph (Gerry) O’Brien. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife of 47 years Shirley (Freake). Three loving sons John (Jordana) and granddaughter Kielan, Keith (Jennifer) and darling grandson Rogan, and Ken (Karen) and darling grandson Benjamin. Predeceased by his mother and father Bridget and John O’Brien, two brothers and one sister, daughter-in-law Lisa O’Brien 2006, two sisters-in-law Dorothy and Lorraine and brother-in-law Eric Squires. Also leaving to mourn nephew Bren (Mary) and family nieces Maureen (Gerald) Roche and Sharon (Frank) Mercer and family. Sister-in-law Betty Squires and niece Heather Hopkins (Rob), also many friends and those he met at the Mall every day. Upon his request cremation has taken place. Visitation at Cauls Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Monday September 7th, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 at 10 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church, Newfoundland Drive. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Autism Society.
