
Charles McQuaid
April 13, 1943-June 7, 2011, the McQuaid family of Prince Edward Island is saddened to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Charles McQuaid in Yellowknife, NT.
Charlie and his wife, Yvonne, ventured north after retirement in P.E.I. to continue their careers: Charlie as an accountant, Yvonne as a teacher. Charlie and Yvonne were planning to return to P.E.I. in a few weeks time, once again to embark on retirement. Charlie was looking forward to fishing, relaxing and working with stained glass. His friends will fondly remember his devotion to hockey as an avid Habs fan.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Alice McQuaid of Miscouche, P.E.I. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Yvonne (nee Gallant) McQuaid, and children, Charlene McQuaid and husband Rick Fraser, Patrick Fraser, Michael McQuaid and wife, Melanie McQuaid, Jeannine Knox and sons, Nolen and Damian, Gary McQuaid and children, Araya, Bartlett and Hyla McQuaid. Charles is also survived by his siblings and in-laws, Brita and husband, Sonny Thibideau, Margaret DesRoches, Raphael and wife, Marjorie McQuaid, Cheryl McQuaid and partner, Judy Bischler, Maureen and husband, Robert Belanger, Brenda Jeffrey, Dougie and wife, Claudette McQuaid.
Visitation will be held at Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris, P.E.I., on Thursday, June 16, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. The memorial funeral service will be held at St. Alexis Roman Catholic Church on Friday, June 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Father Paul Batchilder presiding.
