Jessie Emily Grace Jenkins, age 90, of the Shiretown Nursing Home and formerly of Linacy, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 in the Home.
Born in Abercrombie, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Alice (Kendall) Pelly. She grew and donated African Violets to the Aberdeen Hospital Gift Shop for many years. She was a member of Trinity United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34 Ladies Auxiliary, New Glasgow.
She is survived by sons: John, Hamilton, ON; Lewis (Ruby), Fredericton, NB; Roy (Libby), Sylvester; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur H. Jenkins; sisters: Edith, Florence, Muriel, Shirley and Irene.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday in Abercrombie Cemetery with Rev. Arlene Riches officiating.
