Arnold Clifford Hagen of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and formerly of Admiral, Saskatchewan, passed away June 16, 2011 at the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre in Shaunavon, at the age of 87. Arnold was born on August 4, 1923, the second child of August and Clara Hagen. He received his education at Admiral School. On March 22, 1945 he married Esther Luella Moxness. They spent 66 years together. Four children were born to them, Keith (Beverly) of Scotsguard, Iris of Strathmore, AB, Grant (Sandy) of Eastend and Doug (Sharon) of Shaunavon, five grandchildren Farole (Dave) Kikkert of Okotoks, AB, Nyla Cenaiko of Calgary, Nicole (Noel) Entem of Frenchville, Aaron Hagen (Britney) of Saskatoon and August (Vicki) Hagen of Brandon, MB, and step-grandson Scott (Heidi) Gropp of Cowichan Lake, BC, five great-grandchildren Dean and Stirling Cenaiko, Jade and Lucas Hagen, and Colton Kikkert. Over the years Arnold worked at the smelter at Trail, BC, the horse plant at Swift Current and the coal mine at Roundhill, AB, but always came back to the farm, the love of his life. He was active on the Immanuel Lutheran Church Board, Admiral Credit Union Board, Admiral Coop Board, Admiral 4-H Grain Club leader, Sask. Wheat Pool Board, as well as Admiral Happy Hearts and the Shaunavon Seniors Centre where he spent many happy hours. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Arnold was a quiet, sincere, loving person and a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was always the happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his father and mother, August and Clara Hagen, his sister Agnes and her husband Ed Mizera, and also by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Admiral with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. The pianist was Lynn Wilson. Interment took place at Admiral Cemetery. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was entrusted with the arrangements. Pallbearers were Alan Lind, Carl Lind, Kurt Wigness, Myron Wigness, Philip Cote and Clinton Kirbyson.
