HUNT, Granville S. - Age 80 years, of Bell Island. With heavy hearts and deepest rnsorrow, we sadly announce his peaceful passing at the Health Sciences Centre on rnFriday, November 14th, 2008, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous rntwo year battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents James and Susie Hunt, rnsister Violet and brother Jim. Leaving with a lifetime of cherished rncompanionship, deep love and wonderful memories, his loving and devoted wife of rn59 years, Jean. His beloved children, Susan Neale (Winston), Gary (Bev), Glenn rn(Lisa), Greer (Donna), Granville (Michelle), Darlene Warbrick (Mark); 20 rngrandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. His siblings, Wilson Hunt, Daphne rnKitchen, Pressy Taylor, Freida (Raymond) Delahunty, June (Bob) Hayward, Bill rn(Evelyn) Hunt, Gloria (Dave) Bennett and Hilda (Peter) Locke. Many other rnrelatives, friends and neighbours. Granville was a longtime businessman on Bell rnIsland and an avid tuna sports fisherman. His love for his family was abundant. rnHe enjoyed entertaining with a song or a story and was always up for a game of rncards. His entrepreneurial achievements were numerous and varied throughout his rnlife, they were an inspiration to his family, and those that knew him. He will rnbe remembered for many talents: his songs, great cooking, open arms always for rnfamily and friends, always a smile and a friendly greeting. The family would rnlike to thank the nursing staff of 4NA, and his doctors, for the constant care rnand compassion shown. Resting at Pendergast Funeral Home, Bell Island, (488-rn2116) Saturday evening, 7 p.m., and Sunday, 12 noon to 2 p.m. Funeral service rnwill be held at 3 p.m., Monday, November 17, at St. Michael’s Church, Bell rnisland. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Bell Island. Flowers are graciously rnwelcome. He will be missed.
