ATWOOD, Bernard Douglas, 84, The Hawk, Shelburne County passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born at The Hawk, February 8, 1927, he was a son of the late Angus and Charlotte (Atwood) Atwood. He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Newell; son, Douglas (Becky), Newellton; daughters, Sherry Atwood, Barrington Passage, Beverly Nickerson, Centreville; sister, Frances Lantz, Windsor; 6 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Alton, Kenneth; sister, Dorothy. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 15 at the H. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Rev. Shaun Hatfield officiating. Burial was in the Old Kirk Cemetery, North East Point. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice.
