SCOTT, Leola “Merle”, 76, of West Green Harbour, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Roseway Hospital on Saturday, June 11, 2011. Born in West Green Harbour she was a daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (MacIntosh) Williams. Merle was a loving mother and grandmother. She became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2006. She was a very faithful Witness and enjoyed her Meetings. She was very full of life despite her challenging health problems. Her hobbies included reading, listening and singing to music, completing crossword puzzles, writing journal entries and playing cards. In her earlier years she loved to bake. She enjoyed the family gatherings. She is survived by her thirteen children; Freeman (Peggy) Scott; Harold (Mary) Scott: Burns Scott; Kathy Buchanan, Yvonnie (Ronnie) Hemeon; Marlene (Malcolm) Bartlett, Dorothy (Richard) Harding; Alma (Robert) Cotter; Paul Scott; Vivian Scott; Mabel (Lawrence) Mayo; Dawn (Malcolm) Scott; Michael (Mandy) Scott; brothers, Darrell Williams, Brighton; Roger, East Green Harbour, Loran, British Columbia and, sister, Jessie Scott, Lockeport. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Freeman Samuel Scott, two sons, two brothers and a sister. Merle will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 14, in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport with Vernon Stewart officiating. Burial in West Green Harbour Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
