SHERMAN, Violet Alfreda – 91, of Nictaux Falls passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Henry Enos and Agnes May (Slauenwhite) Nichols. Violet enjoyed going to flea markets, knitting, playing cards and travelling around to various jam sessions. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Chris) Tanner, Nictaux; brother, Earle (Marguerite) Nichols, Meadowvale; granddaughter, Karen (Robert) Ashcroft, Kingston; grandson, Steven Tanner (Becca Hansen), Fredericton, NB and step-great grandchildren, Maleki and Bella Hansen. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Covert; sisters, Etta, Gertie, Cassie, Edith; brothers, Percy, Charles, George and Henry. By request, there will be no visitation. A funeral service was held Friday, June 17, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery.
