It is with deep sadness and love, we announce that Ella Gladys Rowe (nee Davis) passed peacefully away at the Glenbrook Lodge on Torbay Road in St. John’s with family by her side on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her husband Frederick E. Rowe (1989), sister Minnie Morris and three brothers Clifford, Melvin, and Hubert Davis. Left to mourn are her daughters Marilyn Mayo (Ted), Gander, Beverley Furlong (Gerald), Torbay, Debbie Sparkes (Roy), Bay Roberts and one son Elliot Rowe (Josephine), Labrador City; nine grandchildren Cheryl, Craig, Deanne, Shawn, Justin, Courtney, Stefan, Brittany and Adam; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mae Davis, Francis Taylor and Marge Barnes and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday June 17, 2011. Funeral service was held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
