Donald Hyslop
HYSLOP, DONALD - Donald Willis Hyslop, loving husband of Martha (Fillmore) Hyslop passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with his family at his side. Born 1921 in Saint John he was the son of the late Emery Willis and Christina (Bevans) Hyslop. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Alice Eleanor (Humphrey) Hyslop and sister Constance Green. Donald was a Veteran of WWII serving with the First Canadian Regiment then with the North Shore Regiment. He worked as a Mechanic for many years and for the Saint John Port as a Steam Ship Checker. He enjoyed fixing things and spending time with his family. Besides his loving wife Martha of 28 years, he is survived by his children Donald Willis Hyslop Jr. (Elizabeth), Christina Alice Ramsay (Gary), Emery James Hyslop-Margison (Judith) and Gary W. Hyslop; step-daughters Diane Assing (Mike) and Sharon Johnson; brother Emery Hyslop (Joan); sister Ethel Newton (Ken); six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday June 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. The family will receive visitors from 12 p.m. until service time.
