Monty Wayne Gardner of Tugaske, Saskatchewan, born October 23, 1950 in Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Monty passed away with family at his side June 20, 2011 at Moose Jaw Union Hospital from complications of Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT), Hepatitis C, and liver cancer. He is survived by his wife Lynn Wellings; mother Marjorie Bruce; son Todd Gardner; daughter Tisha (Troy) Clark; daughter-in-law Brandie Gardner; grandchildren Madison & Brayden Gardner and Kyra & Samantha Clark; mother-in-law Joyce Wellings; a wide extended family in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia; and his very special “family” (nurses) of the Ambulatory Care Clinic who provided iron transfusions on a weekly basis for many years He is predeceased by his father Charlie Bruce and brother Gary Gardner. Trucking and farming and grandchildren were Monty's passions. Monty trucked in 49 states and most of Canada, and was fortunate to travel extensively with Lynn and family during the last four years. The family wishes to thank his friends/nurses. A Memorial Service will take place at the Tugaske Community Hall on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Rick McCorrister officiating. Private family interment will take place at Tugaske Cemetery. No flowers please. If you wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your own choice, or HHT Research c/o HHT Clinic, St. Michael's Hospital, 30 Bond St., Rm 6017, Bond Wing, Toronto, ON, M5B 1W8. Designate HHT Research. In living memory of Monty, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
