McKINNON, H. GEORGE - George McKinnon of Saint John passed away on June 22, 2011 surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John, September of 1947, he was the son of Vera E. (McDade) McKinnon of Saint John and the late Harold E. McKinnon. George had various jobs starting with office work in accounting. He later travelled and worked for J.D Irving Woodlands Division in Sussex, NB and most recently his favorite and happiest time working with Joe and co-workers at BTN Atlantic. Besides his loving mother Vera, George is survived by sisters Joan Clowater (Cameron) of Burton, NB, Shirley Gilks (Boyd) of Doaktown, NB, Dawn O’Keefe (David) of Quispamsis, NB and Allison McKinnon (Scott Mowery) of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and cousins; with a special place in his heart for great nieces and nephews Megan, Noah, Luke, Kian and Emma. Besides his father Harold; George was predeceased by his precious feline companion Meow.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Memorial service to be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Private family interment to be held at a later date.
