It is with great sadness that the family of the late Glen Duke Gillette announce his passing in the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, June 24, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 60 years. Glen was born in Toronto and raised in Humber Mouth, Corner Brook, NL. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed all of nature’s beauty. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted daughter; Amanda (Mandy) and partner Johnny Pelley, his pride and joy grandson; Zachary, his loving mother , Margaret Gillette, brothers; Wayne (Betty), Graig (Sharon), special niece Katelyn and special nephew, Jay, cousin and good pal, Paul (Paula) Duke and family as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Glen was predeceased by his father, Roy Gillette, his long time companion Evelyn Buckle. Also fondly remembered by Evelyn’s family, her daughter Trudy (Jamie) and mother Theresa Caines, Brenda and son K.J. who was special to Glen, Joanne (Kevin) and son Brandon, Allan (Shirley) and son Michael. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fran Ota officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations made to the Canadian Lung Association will be appreciated by the family. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Doctors, Nurses and staff, especially Palliative Care, also his care taker Phoebe.
