MORRISSEY, SHELDA BERNICE - 1947-2011 - Shelda Bernice Morrissey, 63, of Riverside-Albert passed away peacefully on June 23, 2011 at the Dr. L-George Dumont Hospital with her loving family by her side. Shelda was born in Riverside, NB on December 25, 1947 the daughter of the late Howard and Ursula (Rolfe) Morrissey. She worked with the Royal Bank and also worked with Albert County Home Care as a homemaker in the past few years. She was a member of the Friendship Senior Citizens and enjoyed helping out whenever she was needed. She also enjoyed being around children, if anyone needed someone to watch their kids, Shelda was always willing to help, having babysat for several people in her community. Shelda just loved people. She enjoyed cooking, reading and quilting. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed a good laugh. She had a great sense of humour and lived everyday to the fullest. She will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She will be deeply missed by her children, Bridget (Yuji) of Vancouver; son, Denny (Peggy) of Moncton and treasured grandchildren, Tyler and Kaytlyn; sisters, Sheila Gagne (Guy) of Irishtown, Sandra Smith (Vernon) of Hillsborough, Sylvia Rossiter (Hilyard Jr.) of Midway; brothers, Arnold Morrissey (Mary) of Riverside-Albert, Allen Morrissey (Nancy) of Moncton and Alfred Morrissey (Terry) of Moncton. She will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews and many good friends.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday from 2:00-6:00pm.There will be Parish Prayers and a time of sharing at the funeral home on Sunday at 5:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Monday, June 27th, 2011 at 10:00am with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. The interment will be in the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Riverside-Albert Recreation Center for more sharing of memories and for refreshments. Donations to the Breast Cancer Foundation or charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
