It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden peaceful passing of George Alexander Beattie (Alex) on September 6, 2009.
Born November 25, 1966 in Regina Saskatchewan to Dorothy Beattie and her late husband Jack. Alex was educated in Saskatchewan and Graduated with a teaching degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He was a world traveler, visiting family, friends and making many new friends. He taught elementary school in Red Deer for 15 years. Traveling the world for 6 months he decided to settle in Vancouver BC. He loved music, and at his passing was the President of the Vancouver Men\'s Choir, singing was his joy.
He volunteered & worked with the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life in Vancouver and made so many new friends.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy, many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and great friends and his dog Pepper.
We will miss his whit, zest for life and mentorship. A Celebration of his life will be held on September 12th, 2 pm at the 1st United Church in Swift Current. Another Celebration of life will be held in Vancouver later this month. Instead of flowers please donate to the Vancouver Men\'s Chorus, Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life, 1st United Church or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
