Pictou – SULLIVAN, Muriel Kathleen - 90 - It is with great sadness that the family of Muriel Kathleen (Hudson) announces her passing on June 25th, 2011 at the Shiretown Nursing Home in Pictou, N.S. after an acute illness.
Born in Country Harbour Guysborough County, on September 13, 1920, Muriel was the daughter of the late Leonard and Dellas (Johnson) Hudson.
While living in Pictou, she was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, where she served as secretary of the WMS Society for many years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother whose greatest passion in life was caring for her family.
Muriel is survived by sons: Dr. John, Halifax; Dr. Wayne (Janice), Halifax; Barry (Patricia), Ottawa; daughter: Brenda (Greg) Egilsson, Pictou; sister: Dorothy (Mrs. Everett Keith), Grandchildren: Mark, Karen, Gavin, Susan, Samuel (Sam), Robert, Bridgette, John, Daniel and Jenny: Great-grandchildren: Olivia, William (Will), Kai, Sadaa, Jada; many nieces and nephews.
Muriel was pre-deceased by her husband Robert Coleman (Bob); Brothers: Trueman, Lloyd, Spencer, Edison, George, Reggie, Clarence, Robert (Bob), Arthur, Everett, Gerald; Sisters: Helen Hudson, Garneta Hudson, Cora (Dolly) Jack, Reta Sponagle.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Pictou or a charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to egilsson@eastlink.ca.
Interment will follow at Sea View Cemetery beside her husband. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. The family would like to extend a sincere and heart-felt "Appreciation" to the caring and devoted staff and caregivers at the Shiretown Nursing Home.
