LILLIAN YAKE

Passed on: June 25th, 2011

Lillian Margaret Yake (Cedergren)
November 23, 1915 – June 25, 2011
It is with heavy hearts that the children of Lillian Yake announce her passing at the age of 95 years on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon with her loving family at her side. Lillian was born November 23, 1915 at Keeler, Sask. She was the oldest child of Frank and Linnea Cedergren. After completing her schooling, she moved to Moose Jaw to work. On August 9, 1941 she married John (Jack) Yake and they made their home in Moose Jaw only leaving for a few years when Jack worked in Estevan. Mom worked for a number of years at the Central Supply at the Union Hospital. Mom was a long time member of Sunningdale Community Church and was an active member of the ladies groups. Four years ago she moved to Saskatoon and resided at the Palisades Intermediate Care Home until her passing. She settled in very quickly and really enjoyed her time there and her "special girls". Lillian's love and care of her family will be a lasting legacy for all of us. Mom was quiet but had a great strength and deep faith and accepted with grace whatever life sent her way. She was loving Mother to Lynne (Albert) Georget of Saskatoon; Brian (Tracy) Yake of Enderby, BC; and Mary (Bill) Pronyk of Garland, MB. She was proud Grandma and Great-Grandma to: Wendy (Casey) Fleming and Kelsey, Kevin (Krista) Georget, Samuel and Benjamin; Adam (Beth) Yake and Daylen; Raegan Yake; Carl Pronyk; and Russell (Jessica) Pronyk, Henry, Gordon, Holly and Violet. She was dear sister to Arthur (Alice) Cedergren and Mildred Neiser (Guillaume). She is also survived by twenty-two nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) in 1992; her parents, Frank and Linnea Cedergren and by her sisters Alice Crerar and Ivy Closs (Neff). In celebration of Lillian's life, a Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Pastor Ashley Taylor will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association. In living memory of Lillian, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
