
May MacKenzie
MacKENZIE, May Catherine (Lynch), of West Branch, Pictou County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at home with her family by her side. Born May 25, 1932 in Earltown, she was a daughter of the late George & Elizabeth (Sutherland) Lynch. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She belonged to Frazee Rebekah Lodge, No. 33, River John, and was an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. May is survived by daughters, Jennie Washburn, Christena (Malcolm) Mattatall, Ellen (Andrew) Richardson, Ferne (Terry) Langille, Minnie, Margaret (Keith) Clark, Mabel; sons, James (Roxanne), William (Darlene), and Daniel; 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly; sister, Christine Lynch; brothers, Allan (Nordeen) Lynch, Layton (Karen) Lynch; brother-in-law, Doug (Paulette) Sutherland; nieces and nephews who shared their love with Aunt May, and she will be dearly missed by her special pet “Baby”. She was predeceased by her husband, James Hugh MacKenzie; twin sons, George and Hugh; daughter, Catherine, all in infancy; granddaughter, Amy Marie; sisters, Jennie MacNutt, Elizabeth Sutherland; brothers, Alex and George Lynch. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2:00 PM Thursday from Burns Memorial Presbyterian Church, West Branch, with Rev. Lara Scholey officiating. Burial will be in West Branch Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Burns Memorial Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice.
