Born in Cornwall, England, raised in St. John’s, NL, passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Complex on Saturday, September 12, 2009, in his 84th year. Predeceased by his precious daughter: Linda; parents: William and Edith Pearcey; brothers: Albert “Chum,” Harry and Colin; sisters: Lillian Keigan, Primrose Clancey, Elsie Cox, Dorothy Pearcey, Edith Pearcey and Barbara Pearcey; nephews: Leonard Pearcey, Angus Cox and Dennis Keigan; nieces: Dorothy Young and Marie Gerrow. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 63 years: Jessie “Doll” Pearcey; children: Barbara Hutchings, Fred (Eleanor), Sandra Collins, Barry (Cheryl) and Roanne Clarke (Chris); grandchildren: Donnie Hutchings (Jennifer) of Nova Scotia, Todd Hutchings, Mandy and Freddy Pearcey and Roanne Collins; great-grandchildren: Jordon Hutchings, Parker and Pierce Hutchings of Nova Scotia; sisters-in-law: Mary Pearcey and Lorraine Pearcey; brother-in-law: Fred Robbins; special nieces: Lucy Smith of Nova Scotia, Edith Christmas of Nova Scotia, Barbie Collins, Geraldine Rideout, Eva Duke and Margaret Martin, as well as a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, Sept. 14th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 15th at 12 noon.
