Edison Boutilier
Passed in: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: June 28th, 2011
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 God called home a very special angel, Edison Boutilier, after a five month battle with cancer.
An amazing gentleman, Edison was always there for everyone. There was nothing in life that meant more to Edison than his family. Edison and Colleen have been together for 36 years, spending each day deeply in love. Their hearts will always belong to each other. Their love built them a beautiful family. Ryan, their first born was Edison’s best friend, spending each day together, working on their homes or coaching hockey together, most notably, the Glace Bay High School Panthers. Ryan gave us a wonderful daughter-in-law, Sarah and a precious grandson, Zachary. Edison will always be Zach’s guardian angel. Jeff, our second son, is the strong kind hearted one who always brings a smile to his Dad’s face, knowing what to say and ending every conversation with “I love you”. Jeff blessed us with his wife, Nelsa, who has brought us so much love and joy.
The Boutilier family will miss their son and brother dearly. Edison loved his parents, Joyce and Henry with all of his heart and was devoted to them every day. Edison will always be held in the hearts of his siblings, Henry (Cynthia), Gail (Robert), Barbara Jean (Billy), Anita (Lewis), Winnie, April (Kenny) and Daryl (Heather) , The Turnbull family loved and treated Edison as a brother and will be missed by John (Gail), Bernie O’Brien, David, Thelma (Leo), Janette (Raymond), Grace (Abe), Myrtle, Joe, Billy, Margie (Ermie), Kenny (Yvonne) and Cindy (Bernie). Edison leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, good friends, god children, aunts, uncles, cousins and his special buddies, Nicky and Charlie.
Being of strong faith Edison was not afraid to die. He will be reunited with his Nanny and Grandfather Boutilier, Nanny and Grandfather Parsons; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Jessie Turnbull; sisters-in-law, Ann, Mary, Loretta and Diane; brothers-in-law, Eddie, Bernie C, Gerald and niece, Linda and nephew, Jamie. Edison was employed at Sydney Coal Railway. He loved coaching Little League, hockey and working around his yard. Edison and Colleen loved to travel and spend time together.
Visitation for Edison will be held at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, Thursday, June 30, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Edison’s life will be held 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay. Fr. Leo Boone will be officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Online condolences to the Boutilier family are available through www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
Edison,
Each day you thanked us for being at your side and told us how much you loved us, but it should be us thanking you for the perfect life you have given us. I will never be alone because your wonderful qualities will live on in Ryan and Jeff. Till we meet again, we will always love you forever.
