It was with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lewis Bowne, aged 85 on June 16th, 2011 in the presence of his family at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre. Lewis leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife, Phyllis of 65 years; sister, Jeanette Keats; sons, James (Barbara), Harvey (Lorraine); daughters, Shirley (Ken) Hoefling, Barbara (Ron) Mercer; grandsons, James (Kim), Bradley, Shannon, Chris Bowne, Ronald (Erica) and Craig (Crystal) Mercer; granddaughters, Phyllis (Dean) Tilley and April (Keith) Stone; great-grandchildren, Tyler Bowne, Samantha Mullett, Kallie Stone, Carter Bowne, Noah Bowne, Grayson Bowne, Laurale Bowne, Jacob Mercer and Luke Mercer; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation or service at his request.
