Austin Fowlow Day
Passed on: June 27th, 2011
Passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, June 27, 2011, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Austin Fowlow Day in his 75th year. Leaving to mourn his best friend and devoted wife Shirley; sons: Mac (Amy) and beautiful granddaughters: Emily and Martha, Keith (Annie), Jeff (Nancy); sister-in-law Mamie Day and her children: Jackie (Noel) Nurse and Robert (June); brothers and sisters: Eric and Marion Vincent, Levina and Bruce Neal, Marie Stead, Pearce and Sylvia Vincent, Audrey Vincent; special cousin Jean Norris; and family friend Rev. Jean Smith. Predeceased by mother and father Mark and Jean Day; and brothers: Cal and Mac of Musgravetown. Austin was a devoted member of Alcoholics Anonymous, his second loving family. Thank you to the staff and doctors at the Health Sciences Complex and St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Special thank you to the 7th floor West, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, especially to Dr. Duguid for his compassion. The family would also like to thank the staff at Chancellor Park and Karwood Retirement Center; as well as all friends and family for all their kindness and help in the past years. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 and on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 10-12. Funeral service will be held at Barrett’s Chapel on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
