FLETCHER, BERNEICE RUTH - Berneice R. Fletcher of Magaguadavic, NB passed away peacefully at her home on June 29, 2011. Survived by her husband, Joseph Armstrong Fletcher; her six children, Joseph Jr. (Dorothy), Harvey, Gloria (Greg), Magaguadavic Lake, Marilyn Wilson (late Douglas), Saint John, John (Iris), Keswick Ridge, Mary Lou (Joe), Saint John and Sandra, Magaguadavic Lake; seven grandchildren, Stewart Glaspy (Wendy), Saint John, Scott Wilson (Robin), Saint John, Daniel Glaspy (Julie), Magaguadavic Lake, James Wilson (Jill), St. Stephen, Andrew Glaspy (Amanda), Saint John, Luke Fletcher, Saint John and Josie Fletcher, Saint John; seven great great grandchildren, Alex, Isaiah, Dara, Dominic, Hannah, Brooklyn and Aaron; three sisters, Marjorie Bell (late John), Tweedside, Dorothy Little (late Gray), Harvey and Barbara Embleton (late Glen), Harvey; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hood and Roxie Hood, both of Magaguadavic; a brother-in-law, Cecil Nason, Saint John; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Albert Hood; her mother, Alice Hamilton Hood; two brothers, Gordon Hood and Allan Hood; six sisters, Ethel Ferris (Albert), Joyce Messer (Chester), Lois Simpson (Eugene), Isabel MacMullin (Alton), Madeline Cleghorn (Alton) and Carol Nason. Berneice was born at Magaguadavic Lake, NB on January 29, 1929. She was a devoted loving wife and mother and loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed beating her husband at card games. Berneice loved square dancing, clogging and was a talented quilt maker, painter and seamstress. She was a life long member of the Anglican Church and a member of the A.C.W.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Swan Funeral Home, 1926 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at All Saint’s Anglican Church, Magaguadavic, NB on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Father Kevin Borthwick officiating. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Magaguadavic. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to All Saint’s Anglican Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
