It is with great sadness that the family of Gerry Aldag announce his passing at Cypress Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the age of 75 years. He leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years Barb, his mother Peggy (Lloyd) of Shaunavon, daughter Penny (Rick) Wickham of Shaunavon, son Bill (Michelle) of Swift Current, son-in-law Brian Zankl of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father William Aldag (1977), daughter Gwen (2009). Gerry was born June 2, 1936 in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan to William and Peggy Aldag. He grew up in the Shaunavon area and went to school in Shaunavon. He worked as a barber and then worked for consolidated Pipe Lines and Trans Gas. Gerry began farming in 1977. He married Barb in 1958 and together they raised their family of three children in Shaunavon. They moved to Swift Current in 1993 and they retired there. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed all times spent with family. He will be sadly missed and forever remain in our hearts. A memorial service was held from Salem Lutheran Church in Shaunavon on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Gerry’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
