ERVIN KLEIN

Born In: Saskatchewan, Canada

Passed in: Saskatchewan, Canada

Ervin Klein passed away suddenly at his home on September 11, 2009 at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving wife Irene of 37 years, a stepson and stepdaughter. Ervin will be deeply missed by his sisters Elsie, Bernice and Irene, as well as other extended family. He is predeceased by his father Philip, mother Carolina, siblings Herbert and Mary, and brothers-in-law Sager, Ron and Fred. Ervin was born in the Bateman District on July 31, 1931. He attended the Bateman School until, at an early age, he went to work as a hired hand helping out the local farmers. He moved to Moose Jaw in the early 1950’s and began working for the City of Moose Jaw. In 1972 he married Irene, and continued to work for the City of Moose Jaw until his retirement in July 1996. Ervin enjoyed music and dancing, frequently attending dances in Moose Jaw and Regina. He enjoyed watching sports, local hockey games being one of his favourite pastimes. With a farming past, he loved to attend the various farm progress shows and events that featured the latest developments in farming equipment. Both he and Irene were faithful members of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church until failing health made it too difficult for them to attend regularly. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 18th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Parkview Funeral Chapel. An interment service will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to Providence Place in Moose Jaw would be appreciated.
