ARDNESS – Theresa Catherine MacDonald, 91, Haven Brook Manor, Riverton, formerly of Ardness, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by family.

Born in Dunmaglass, she was a daughter of the late Dan Ronald (D.R.) and Cassie (Gillis) MacGillivray. She was a faithful member St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore. She operated “Theresa’s Store” in Ardness for many years after the death of her late husband, Donald John C. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Surviving are her daughters, Donna MacDonald, Mississauga, Ont.; Joan (Walter) Pawlikewich, Winnipeg, Man.; Anne (J.P.) Baudon, Kelowna, B.C.; sons, Drummond (Betty), Lismore; Raymond (Anne), Arisaig; Hugh Ninian (Lynn), Mississauga; Eric (Amanda), Dunmaglass; Ian (Debbie), Plymouth; Paul (Beatrice), Melbourne, Fla.; daughters-in-law, Sheila, Stellarton and Suzanne, New Glasgow; sisters, Mary Delaney, Antigonish; Katherine Stewart, Ashdale; Margaret MacLellan, Cloverville; brother, Charles MacGillivray, Mississauga; grandchildren, John Andrew, Tanya, Ivan, Adam, Shelley, Daune, Byron, Kimberley, Donald, Rayleen, Grant, Shane, Christien, Adam, Joel, John Daniel, Brett and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Jack, Lauren, Maddie, Clayton, Cassie, Alora, Jada, Amelia, Gordon, Lucy, Stazia, Leonid, Evan and Emma; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald St. John (John C.) MacDonald; brothers, Donald (twin), Bernie, Alex and John D.R. MacGillivray.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bailey’s Brook.
