GREENE, Edward J.P. (Ed) — Passed away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Friday, July 1st, 2011 at the age of 77 years. Ed Greene with his loving wife Linda (nee Halfyard) by his side along with several others, who were truly angels. Ed is predeceased by his parents Jack and Eileen (Richardson) Greene and also his two beloved sisters, Rosemary (Joe, dec.) Cichanowicz and Patricia (Henry, dec.) Fisher. He is survived by his wife Linda and his family. They will be left with beautiful memories of countless happy times. Together to mourn with Linda are Ed’s sons: David (Debbie), Goulds, NL; Kevin, Thornhill, ON; Stephen (Annie) Moncton, NB; Jeffrey, St. John’s, N.L .; and foster son Dave Hawley, Mt. Pearl, N.L.; his daughters: Susan (Helen) Greene-Gibbs, Richmond Hill, ON.; Karen (Jay) Giblon, Thornhill ON.; JoAnn (Rod) Sooley, Grand Falls-Windsor, N.L.; also his brother, Jack (Elsie) Greene, Dartmouth, N.S.; brother-in-law Bob (Lorraine) Halfyard, St. Philips, N.L. and sister-in-law: Joyce (Harry) Lilly, Lower Sackville, N.S. Left behind with treasured memories are Ed’s grandchildren: Christopher and Adam Greene, Rachel, Samuel, Tamara, Aviva and Benjamin Giblon, Matthew Sooley, Ireland Greene-Gibbs and Mark and Vanessa Hawley and many relatives and friends including the management and staff of Sears where Ed was employed for 37 years in various management positions and retired as the store manager in 1992. We hope we have not forgotten others in our moment of sorrow. We would also express our deep thank you to the staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home 3 South. Their kindness and all they gave will be forever remembered. We thank you again. Ed will be resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 4th, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church, Smithville Cres. Interment to follow at the family plot at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Logy Bay Road.
