Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Veterans Pavillion on Friday, September 11, 2009, Marion Rowlands formerly of South Wales, Great Britain, aged 88 years. Served for six years in WW II in the A.T.S. Predeceased by her mother: Mary Jane; father: Thomas John; sister: Lillian Ray James. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of memories are her special sister and brother-in-law: Brenda and Bill Saunders; nieces and nephews: Denise (Wayne), Diane (Melvin), David (Susan), John (Laura), Glenys (Bill), Karen (Wallace), Bill (Corinne) and Brenda (Dwight); fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great nephew; two great-great nieces as well as cousins in South Wales. Also a special thank you to Dr. Butler, staff and friends of the Caribou Veterans Pavillion. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, Sept. 13th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Barrett’s Chapel on Monday, Sept. 14th at 2:30 p.m. Cremation to follow. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honour, Tuesday at 2 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Marion’s memory can be made to the S.P.C.A.
