October 15, 1922 – July 1, 2011. Our hearts were saddened on Friday, July 1, 2011 with the passing of George Eddy of Heart’s Delight, aged 88 years, at the Carbonear General Hospital with his loving family at his side. Predeceased by parents Alfred and Ellen Eddy, father and mother- in –law; Sidney and Lena Williams, baby daughter, Joyce Elaine, son-in-law Sol Bishop, brother Johnny and brothers-in-law, Tom Stacey and Leslie Reid. He is lovingly remembered by his cherished wife of 63 years, Viney (nee Williams), children; Sidney (Barbara-ann) Eddy, Forestburg, Alberta, Pearl (Vern) Mercer, Heart’s Delight, Gerri Bishop (Percy Harnum), Heart’s Delight, Karen (Ken) Jackson, Cavendish, Brian (Amber) Eddy, Killam, Alberta; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter arriving soon; sisters, Eunice Stacey and Pearl Reid, North Harbour, as well as a large number of other relatives and friends. Family and friends are welcome for visitation at Bethel United Church, Heart’s Delight on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.; 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Bethel United Church on Monday, July 4, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Bethel United Cemetery, Heart’s Delight.
