Edgar Cormier
CORMIER, EDGAR J. - Edgar J. Cormier, 87, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born on May 2, 1924 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Aurele and Ida (Goguen) Cormier. Before his retirement, Edgar worked at Eddy’s Hardware in Bathurst and at Dryden Motors in Moncton for 22 years. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Bathurst Legion #18. He is survived by one daughter, Nancy-Ann Lachambre of Moncton; his ex-wife and friend, Loretta Cormier of Bathurst; four sisters: Esthelle Constable and Cordellia Cormier, both of Moncton, Germaine Doiron (Alphonse) of Cap-Pelé and Marguerite Cormier of Leominster, Mass.; three brothers: Gérard, Eugène and Roger, all of Moncton; two grandchildren: Tammy (Brian Parent) and Marcie, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, René. Thanks to the miracle from all our prayers, he remained pain free until the very end.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until departure (9:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Saturday July 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. Veterans of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at 3:45 p.m. on friday at the funeral home.
