NEW GLASGOW – Alvin Lee Dartt, age 94, of Lorne Street, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in Green Oaks, he was the son of the late Norman and Eunice (Collins) Dartt.
He worked for Dearborn Dairy in Truro before moving to New Glasgow, where he worked for C.N. Express until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity United Church.
He is survived by daughters, Carla (Owen) McCormick, Abercrombie; Marilyn (Dave) Raynard, Trenton; son, Lee Jr. (Judy), Trenton; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Arabelle Virginia (Fitzgerald), sister Georgina Linton, chosen brother Roy Allen.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 1 p.m. Sunday in Trinity United Church, with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. Burial will be in Lorne Street Cemetery.
