We, the family of the late Hilda Duff, would like to thank our relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers for the support that we received following the loss our mother. To those who phoned, visited, and sent food to our homes, our sincere thanks. Gratitude is also extended to those who sent mass or sympathy cards, religious enrollments, charitable donations, monetary gifts, and flowers. To those who visited the funeral home and attended our mother’s funeral mass, your kind words will never be forgotten. Appreciation is also extended to Sue Bishop, Jane Duff, Roberta MacBurnie, and Diana Timmons. Your presence was so comforting and your assistance in keeping things running smoothly meant so much. We would also like to acknowledge Bertha Ivey, our mother’s caregiver and friend, whose kindness will always be remembered. To Dr. J. Kirkpatrick and office staff, physicians and staff of the Cape Breton Cancer Center, Palliative Care Program, VON, and Medigas, thank you for the kind and compassionate care. A special thank you is also extended to Susan MacKenzie, Palliative Care Consult Nurse. To Father Jake Andrea, thank you for the moving service. Thanks also to the altar servers, readers, organist, St. Joseph’s Parish choir for the beautiful hymns, and to the ladies who provided the lovely luncheon following the service. We are also grateful to our mother’s pallbearers, who included family friends, Bobby Ryan, David Timmons, and Bobby Andrea; grandsons, Ryan Duff and Patrick Shaw, and son in law, Doug Shaw. Finally, our sincere thanks to the staff of the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home for the professional and compassionate service. To all of you, your kind words and remembrances helped to ease the pain of our loss.
