Lloy, Mona Matilda (Ouderkirk) - 82, Millvale, Cumberland Co. Born in Thomson Station, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Lydia Ouderkirk and wife of the late Mayhew Lloy. Our dear mother passed peacefully into eternity at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16. She died in her home of 64 years, the home in which she gave birth to most of her children and where she cared for her mother before her passing 40 years ago. Mother received the same tender loving care from her daughters who attended her in the last months of illness. Mother gave her whole life for her children. She greeted family and friends from near and far with warmth and loving kindness as each one came to visit during her illness. The memory of countless acts of kindness within her family and beyond, to many individuals, will always be cherished. In Mother’s heart, extended family seemed to have no bounds. Mother met every difficulty with courage. Each of us especially appreciated this during her last little while. Left to mourn are her daughters, Dianne (Gary) Robertson, Oxford; Nellie-Dawn (Preston) Lloy, Amherst; sons, Milford (Donna) Lloy, Yarmouth; Marven (Gerene) Lloy, Hillsborough, N.B.; Levi (Ella) Lloy, Millvale; Mayhew (Nancy) Lloy, Moncton, N.B.; Daniel (Shelly) Lloy; Czech Republic; Shannon Lloy, Millvale; Tim (Judy) Lloy, Amherst; 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mother is survived by her sisters; Susie Ripley, Collingwood; Audrey Drake, Calgary; brothers; Edward (Avie) Ouderkirk, Calgary; Bill Ouderkirk, Onslow. She was predeceased by her husband, Mayhew; infant son, Herbert S. Lloy; sisters, Gladys Stevens, Marjorie Christie; and brothers, Max, Harvey and Mel Ouderkirk. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 17 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, September 18, all in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (447-2930).
