HICKS, SHERMAN - Sherman Leslie Hicks of Cumberland Bay passed away at his residence Saturday, July 9, 2011. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Ross Hicks. Sherman was a retired flooring installer. He enjoyed gardening, wood carving, drawing, painting and was an avid Nascar fan. Sherman is survived by his special canine friend, Maggie; his children Karen Cole (John) of Quispamsis, Larry of Cumberland Bay, Terri Barton (Tim) of Cumberland Bay and Roxanne Ferris (Edmond) of Chipman; brothers Ross (Peggy), Lloyd (Inez) and Russell; sisters in law Marilyn Bishop, Carolyn Prentice (Terry), Isabel Eagles, Barbara Robb and Georgia Dent (Daniel); brothers in law Fenwick Burnham, Mel Leaman and Bill Eagles (Patricia Levesque). Also survived by "the light of his life" his grandchildren Tyrell Cole (Shereen Harley), Nolan Cole (Holli Barr), Jenna Barton and soon to be first great grandchild; godson David Burnham and several nieces and nephews. Sherman is predeceased by his wife Lois (Eagles); infant daughter Julie; brothers Gerald and Richard; sister June; sisters in law Elaine Kerr (Alex) and Doreen Burnham; brothers in law Junior Eagles and Merrill Eagles.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Tuesday, July 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Wednesday, July 13 at 2 pm with Pastor Jim Nicolle officiating.
