BANNISTER, HELEN M. - 1918 - 2011 - Helen M. Bannister of Riverview, passed away Saturday July 9th at the Moncton Hospital following a brief illness at the age of 93. Born in Urney, Kings County, NB, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Letitia (Hanlon) Burns. Helen was employed at the Timberland Motel in Penobsquis until her retirement. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Faye Richard (Ronnie), son, Glen Fillmore (Carol) both or Riverview, step-son, Delbert Bannister (Alice) of Sussex Corner, two brothers, Otty of Riverview and Leo (Winnie) of Moncton, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Glendon Fillmore, her second husband, Harold Bannister, step-son, Rev. Delbert Bannister, brothers, Jack, Mike, Delbert, Murray and Donald, sisters, Mary, Bernice and Millie.
In honoring Helen’s wishes a private graveside service will take place, an invitation is extended to all to come share and celebrate Helen’s life at the Portage Vale Baptist Church on Saturday July 23, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The interment will take place at the Portage Vale Cemetery. Donations to the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). Online condolences can be made at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
