CLEMENTS, Allan Douglas - 77, of Gibson Woods, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at home. Born in Gibson Woods, he was a son of the late Joseph and Evelena (Gibson) Clements. He worked on the family farm in Gibson Woods. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Habitant Branch 73, Canning and the dart leagues in Canning and Kentville. He loved sports and playing cards. Allan was a loving son, brother and uncle and will be sadly missed. He is survived by sisters, Bessie Croxen, Bridgewater; Anne Ogletree-Parent, Detroit; Doris (Carl) Evans, Dartmouth; Fannie (Phillip) Brothers, Gibson Woods; Barbara Padmore and Carole Clements, both of Toronto; a brother, William, Gibson Woods; sisters-in-law, Pauline (William) Clements and Phyllis (Harold) Clements, both of Gibson Woods; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Ruth, Frances (in infancy) and Evelyn (Arthur) Ross; brothers, Reginald, Barry, Mervyn and Harold. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, Reverend Stephen Gough and Pastor Galvin Simmonds officiating. Burial took place in the Gibson Woods Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
