On Friday, July 8th, 2011, Mrs. Anne Allan passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 93 with her sisters Barbara and Violet at her side.
Anne is survived by her loving children, David Allan (Sally) of Courtenay, B.C., Diana Yaremchuk of Victoria, B.C., and Brian Allan (Debbie) of Kamloops, B.C., numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great-grandson and her two sisters Barb Davis and Vi McCullough of Kamloops.
Anne was pre-deceased by her husband Robert Allan, her parents Alton and Annie Demmon, her sister Rose, and her granddaughter Annette.
Anne was born on December 31, 1917 in Kamloops, British Columbia. She attended Saint Ann's Academy for grades 1 through 12. She worked at Boeing Aircraft in Vancouver as an Expeditor during World War II where she met Robert Allan. Anne and Robert (Bob) were married August 8th, 1943. They lived at the Bralorne Mine and at the Nickle Plate Mine before returning to make their home in North Kamloops in the early 1950's.
Anne worked at McDonald Hardware in North Kamloops for many years. She then worked at Safety Mart #1 in North Kamloops until she retired in 1975. During her retirement, Anne spent many years travelling. She also spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street with Reverend LeAnne Blackert officiating. Open House to follow at 321 Cherry Avenue, North Kamloops.
