It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the passing of Paul Boone, 44, on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Margie (MacKenzie) and the late Justin Boone.
Paul was a member of St. John’s Church in Glace Bay. Paul was employed as an electrician at Clear Water Fisheries in Glace Bay. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends, especially his close friend Billy Beresford.
Left to mourn are his loving wife and best friend, Ann (MacLeod); his two children, son, Colin, and daughter, Chantel, to whom he was both a loving and devoted father. Beloved brother to Sharon, Darlene, Sheldon, Maureen, Mary Elizabeth and Joe; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Paul’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass officiated by Rev. Bill Rankin will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John’s Church, Glace Bay. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. All are invited to join the family for a reception in the parish hall.
As an expression of sympathy for Paul, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Regional Hospital Cancer Centre.
