It is with great sadness that after a two and a half year battle with cancer, we announce the death of our brother Dermot (Dermie) Handregan on July 5, 2011, in Winnipeg, Man. formerly of Charlottetown. He was born on Feb. 15, 1942, to Kevin and Ursline (Cain) Handregan. Beloved husband of Lynn (Harvey) loving father to two sons Kevin (Chris) and Jeff (Candace), along with his six beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Eileen (Bernie Gallant), brother Tom (Elaine Hillier, Leo (Margie MacNeill) and nieces and nephews. Although he spent 46 years in Manitoba, his love of the Island was always with him. His dream to come home and travel the Island tip to tip came true for him last August, when he was well enough to travel and visit with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later time in Charlottetown. Donations may be made in Dermie’s memory to the Oncology Department at the QEH Hospital in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
