Helen Christina Edna Clark, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, and formerly of Scotsburn, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Poplar Hill on April 23, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Fisher and Ida (MacKenzie) Clark.
Helen received her R.N. from the Aberdeen Hospital in June 1944. Upon graduating, she worked at the Aberdeen Hospital, Queen Mary Veteran’s Hospital, Montreal, and various other hospitals in Nova Scotia. Helen enjoyed playing golf and watching sports on TV, especially baseball and hockey games. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn.
Helen is survived by her sister-in-law, Beulah Clark, Pictou, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Florence; brothers, Fulton, Fred, and a brother in infancy.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A public graveside service will be held Thursday, July 14, at 2:00 p.m. in Riverbank Cemetery, Toney Mills, with Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating.
