ODETTE (DeeDee) ALICE FRANKOW was delivered by midwife on November 7, 1935 at the family farm in Storthoaks, Sask, like her 4 older sisters. DeeDee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at age 75. Predeceased by her father, Alphonse and his eleven siblings; her mother Alice Dauvin and her two siblings; her sister Jeanine and brother-in-law Wally Besler; her brother-in-law Bill Harty; her son Marc Michael; and her honorary son, Paul Besler. DeeDee is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 56 years, Mike and their children - Louis, his wife Monique and her extended family; daughters Roberta; Jocelyn and her partner Jim Bingham; Colette and her husband Myles and their son, Michael Blust; special honorary daughter Patricia (nee Besler), her husband Jay and their children, David, Janay and Nicole Brown - as well as all the very special neighborhood kids who enjoyed her as a second mother and only went home for supper when the menu didn't suit them. A prayer service was held at Warren's Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17 at 7:00pm, 126 - 2nd Avenue NE, Swift Current with a memorial service held at Christ the Redeemer Church, 600 Circle Drive, Swift Current on Monday, July 18 at 2:00pm with Father James Owolagba officiating. A reception at the church followed the service. Private internment of DeeDee and son Marc was held at Memorial Gardens. In memory of DeeDee, the family would request that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, 16th Floor, 20 Eglinton Avenue W, Toronto, ON, M4R 1K8.
