Dodsworth, Eunice Mollie, 89, of Truro, passed away Friday September 18th, 2009 in Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in Dunston, England, to the late John and Ida (Briggs) Walton, she moved to Canada in 1943 as a war bride, spending most of her life in Old Barns and Great Village. She was quite an artist and an avid reader; she loved music and gardening and was also a keen walker. Her quirky sense of humour will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Roger, Ontario and Jim, Great Village; daughters Christine Landry, Truro and Katherine Downing (Ron), Bible Hill; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren as well as her brother, Roger Walton (Australia) and sisters Elsie Shepherd and Joan Weighill, both from England.
She was predeceased by her husband William Burpee Dodsworth and son Peter, and also by two of her sisters, Ida (Nellie) Parker and Millie MacLeod.
No visitation by family request. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11am in St John’s Anglican Church, Truro, with Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating. Family flowers only, but donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, Truro.
